A Statement, of Sorts;

My work is usually whimsical and fantastic, spiked with some element of darkness, and uncommonly self-aware.

As a child I did little other than draw. The fact that nothing was impossible when it came to lines on paper was something I thoroughly grooved on. It didn't have to be balanced, logical, likely, or relevant; it only had to be rendered. Anything went with drawing, and that's why it was my first great love.
Sketching and I are still terribly close, but it can only ever be a representation of an idea. Flat became passe.
In recent years, it's been sculpture that's set my heart a flutter. There's nothing that compares with making something that exists in the same world I do.

From conception to realization, I cherish the entire process of creating something. Everything I do, I do by hand, and dote on each and every detail. I dearly treasure the meticulous.

I like to get as intimately familiar with my work as possible. Every line and every stitch is exactly as I want it, as I made it, and produced 100% organically. I don't feel nearly as good about work I don't do by hand, I always feel i've cheated both the piece and myself out of a very enjoyable time. I regard my creations as living things, and I love them like the same. As a project progresses, I eagerly watch as it's unique personality unfolds, and I do my absolute darndest to nurture it, cultivate it, and bring it front and center.

Qualities of animation and life are things I explore heavily with my work. After all, how can something be uplifting when it is totally listless? Little by little, I'd like to make the word around me a slightly sillier place. I offer no powerful or moving message, only a little break form the ordinary and a hope to catch someone in a moment of confusion and make them smile.
